Description:
As a commissioning team member, provide engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities. Clients exist in both the private and federal sectors and encompass commissioning for financial, healthcare and mission critical facilities. This position will allow the engineer to participate in the MEP design process, witness the static and dynamic testing of complex mechanical, electrical and controls systems, and operate the system in normal, maintenance, and failure modes of operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of Commissioning Plans
- Assist in Engineering Design Reviews
- Assist in the static and dynamic testing of UPS, Emergency Power, Generators, central mechanical plants, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, precision HVAC systems, life safety and controls systems.
- Interacts with contractors, interprets design and specifications. Reviews workmanship and general coordination as required.
- Deals with clients, tries to resolve problems within the scope of the design.
- Conducts site observation surveys and prepares field reports on the status of projects and completion of projects with respect to compliance to the plans and specifications.
- May monitor performance of contractors.
- Prepares punchlists reports and determines corrective measures for on-site problems.
- Prepares general condition survey reports.
- Familiarizes himself with codes, local project regulations, construction practices and the latest equipment functional concepts.
- Familiarizes himself and obeys all the projects safety requirements including each specific on-site regulations. Field engineers must also communicate all the projects safety concerns to others employees involved in the project.
- To be able to perform routine calculations.
- Applying and reinforcing education programs for the advancement of the team.
- Development of details for special reports for client and technical journals.
- Active involvement in professional trade associations and societies.
- Act as project coordinator with other field engineers, coordinating printing, presentation and administration procedures.
- Review shopdrawings/submittals.
- Develop MEP Test procedures.
- Develop MEP Operating Procedures.
- Respond to RFI’s when requested by PM team.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
CE-1 four year college education or equivalent with several years relevant experience.
